We had a wonderful visit in Locust Grove, Georgia, with Justin’s parents Lee and Debbie Swaggerty. It was so good to spend time with them, and they gave us space to rest after a busy weekend in Fitzgerald.
While in Locust Grove, we took the girls to Noah’s Ark – an animal rehabilitation center that’s simply amazing. It is home to more than 1,000 animals, and is also a group home for children. Noah’s Ark is free to visit, and operates on donations. They were recently featured by National Geographic.
On the way through Atlanta on Wednesday, we stopped at Dunbar Elementary School near downtown Atlanta to see our friend Wade Thomas perform. Wade, who was Jon’s college roommate and a groomsman in our wedding, sings baritone in the Atlanta Opera educational outreach program. The troupe performed Rabbit Tales, and Wade was perfect in the role of “King Lion!” The girls LOVED the show, and we were impressed with the teachers and facilities at Dunbar Elementary.
