Partner Events: FBC Richmond and Chapel at BTSR

We’ve had two more partnership events in the last week or so, and wanted to share them with you:

On Wed. Feb 15 we went into Richmond to visit at Richmond First Baptist.  We were invited to share our story with the Catalyst Prayer Group that meets there every week.  What we thought was going to be a simple share time, like we’ve done in the past, turned out to be so much more!  FBC has had an ongoing partnership with Slovakia, and until recently church members had been making annual trips there to do English camps.  It was wonderful to meet so many people who knew a lot about the country where we’ll live, and wonderfully encouraging to find so many people enthusiastic about what we’re doing!  We met many of their Slovakia trip “alums” during dinner, then met with the Catalyst group for a time of intense prayer.  It was a very inspiring and encouraging evening – one of those times that God has provided unexpected affirmation in times when we needed it!

This past Tues. Feb 21, we led worship in the chapel service at Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (BTSR), where Tanya attends seminary.  We sang hymns together, shared our story through drama and “sermon” and one of our songs.  It was a simple worship service, but it was meaningful for us and many of the students and faculty who attended said they really enjoyed it as well.  We’re thankful that we were able to worship with the BTSR community, and that they were gracious enough to allow us the entire chapel service!

As you already know, we’re always on the lookout for new people to share our story with!  We can’t do the normal Sunday morning worship time, since Jon’s still preaching weekly at Kenbridge, but beyond that we’re very flexible.  If you’d like us to come share about our ministry in word, drama and song, let us know!
