We had a wonderful weekend March 17-18 in Franklin, Virginia, at Franklin Baptist Church! FBC featured us for their monthly children’s ministry event on Saturday morning (see our March newsletter for more information on this). We hope to replicate that event in the future with other churches, and we might even use some of the elements in a school setting. The FBC folks were very receptive in helping us out with this “pilot” version of the program, and everyone had fun – including us!

We stayed overnight and then invited us to speak in worship on Sunday morning. In worship, the FBC family did something we had not seen before – a “Noisy Offering.” They had decorated large metal buckets which they used for a special offering. The church family was reminded to bring coins for the offering, which made a very loud sound as they were being dropped in the buckets. What a great idea, and a very sensory addition to worship! Apparently people put more than just coins in there… the offering raised more than $800!
Our thanks to Brent and Michelle Kimlick and their girls for hosting us over the weekend, and for putting these events together for us. We are amazed at the different ideas our many friends and partners have for connecting with our ministry, and we look forward to further partnering with the children’s ministry at FBC!
