Word-of-the-Day Wednesday: Seasons Part 2

This artificial “stream” down main street is shut off and covered during the colder months, along with the Dancing Fountain you’ve seen in our pictures.

Each Wednesday, we’ll try to post a word or phrase in one of our new languages (Slovak and Romani) that will give you a glimpse into the place we’re living.

This week we’ll cover the other two seasons of the year:

SLOVAK:  jar [YAHR]

MEANING:  Spring.  By the time the cold weather has ended and the sun is ready to reappear, we’re sure we’ll be glad for spring!

SLOVAK:  leto [LEH-toh]

MEANING:  Summer… when this season arrives again, we will have been here for one whole year!
