This week’s photo (a day late) is a Back-to-School shot, in honor of the many children who – like ours – are in their first few days and weeks of school. In the photo below, the girls are ready for their first day back at school, including small bouquets of fresh flowers for their teachers. It’s traditional for Slovak students to bring flowers and/or a small gift for the teacher on the first day (we learned that lesson the hard way last year). See below the photo for a quick update on the girls’ first school week:
So many of you have been praying for the girls as they transitioned back into school this week – THANK YOU! Your prayers have definitely been answered! The girls were much more confident and assured starting school this time around, despite the fact that they have several new teachers and have lost some classmates. During this week, each of them earned praises from their teachers for the progress they made on Slovak over the summer. We’re proud of them, and thankful that you joined us in lifting them up these past few days!
